A Celebration of Community, Culture, and Togetherness BrisKA successfully conducted its Family Funday on 9 August 2025, bringing together families from all walks of life for a day filled with joy, unity, and celebration. This annual summer event continues to reflect BrisKA’s mission of strengthening community bonds and creating meaningful spaces for Malayalee families across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Purpose of the Family Funday
The Family Funday is designed to bring together members from various local Malayalee associations, offering a platform to share experiences, build new friendships, and strengthen long-standing relationships. It also functions as an important networking opportunity, helping individuals and families connect with one another in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
For children growing up in diverse cultural neighbourhoods, events like these help nurture an understanding of our heritage, values, and spirit of togetherness. The gathering also encourages mutual support within the community, allowing members to share life experiences, offer guidance, and uplift one another as fellow Malayalees.
Organised by the 2025–2027 Executive Committee
This year’s Funday was meticulously planned and coordinated by the BrisKA Executive Committee:
President: Jaimon George

We were privileged to have the presence of former BrisKA Presidents Manuel Thomas, Tom Jacob, and Sajan Sebastian, whose continued support remains an inspiration to the organisation.
A Day Filled With Joy, Energy & Participation
Families arrived in large numbers—including children as young as three—filling Page Park with enthusiasm and excitement. BrisKA rented a dedicated area of the park for privacy and safety, and two tents were set up to provide shade, along with seating for spectators.
The event began at 10:00 AM with a warm inaugural speech by President Jaimon George, followed by a fun race that set a vibrant tone for the day.

Laughter, cheers, and friendly competition echoed across the field throughout the day.
Food, Friendship & Community Connection
A delicious spread of food and refreshments kept everyone energised and relaxed. The Funday also provided an excellent platform for new members to meet long-standing families, helping strengthen the social fabric of the community.
These interactions continue to keep alive the BrisKA traditions of friendship, unity, and mutual support, especially important in the post-COVID years.
Grand Finale: Tug of War
The event concluded around 4:00 PM with the much-anticipated Tug of War for men and women. Teams included participants of all ages, highlighting BrisKA’s strong tradition of inclusiveness and togetherness. Medals and certificates were presented to the winners, celebrating their achievements with pride.
